Drop-In Center

Come As You Are

We Are Passionate About Creating a Space

Where Victims Can Be Seen, Known and Loved

We have shifted our focus toward activism. Our desire is to meet the need for emergency services. We have learned over the past four years that this is a necessary resource to combatting human trafficking in our community.

For the majority that want to escape, it’s a challenging path. We are opening the drop-in center which will allow us to have the greatest impact. The center will be a place where women can escape what is happening to them if just for an hour and become a part of a healthy community that loves them well.

Feeling the need to meet these women right where they are by creating a safe haven for them to shower, enjoy a hot meal, have access to clean clothes and the support of the community. Being fully aware that the task will be challenging but one with great reward. Encouraging and empowering these women to control even their most minor decisions is the only way to really help them, like all of us, they need love, acceptance, and life-long support. Their unfortunate circumstance does not define their future and we want to be that first step to helping them dream again.

In the words of our Founder and Executive Director, Tina Pennington, “These women need a safe place. A haven. A place where they are fully seen, heard and loved. As human beings, it is our job to fight injustice, and come alongside those who have been affected by trauma and tragedy. Listening to the needs and heart of victim/survivors brings us to the realization that long-term restoration and care is vital.”

By opening our drop -in-center we are giving these women the freedom to choose when to use our services and respect their privacy. With fresh clothes, showers, rest, laundry services, food, and counseling the drop-in center will serve to refresh her body, soul, mind, and spirit.

Deliberately located in the heart of the city, increasing accessibility to our services and programs. With the aim, to be a place of refuge by being a reliable presence that provides immediate tangible needs and resources offering support and hope. In order to effectively advocate for victims, our community must be involved through collaboration and outreach efforts. Our goal is to educate and empower communities with the information and resources they need to combat human trafficking in our neighborhoods.

The center will provide basic and critical needs such as legal aid assistance, educational opportunities, counseling, mentorship, food, clothing, and other basic needs.
